Final Fantasy XIII's Japan Launch Date Goes Official

A few short days after the leaked Japan launch date for Final Fantasy XIII, Square-Enix held its premiere party to give the official word. Japan will get its collective mitts on the next belt-laden RPG on December 17th, with early word of a US launch to follow between March and May 2010.

Square-Enix reps also announced that game’s theme song will be performed by Sayuri Sugawara. Which sounds like the best imaginable reason to post a J-pop video here!

A Backlog is a Hard Habit to Break

It was 8:31am on a Tuesday as I pulled into the parking lot of the Target department store conveniently located on my way into work. This store has one of those slow-opening automatic doors which always gives me pause, wondering if they’ve changed their store hours. The infrared sensor finally detected my presence and I was allowed entry. As I headed past the Customer Service counter, I glance at the smattering of employees milling about nearby. They seemed to be sizing me up, as if they knew my agenda. This caused me to feel a slight twinge of shame.

Firmware

Firmware 3.0 dropped on the Sony Playstation 3 late Monday night, and it has sent a ripple of discord through some of Sony’s most hardline fans. Seemingly without reason Sony has decided to make some drastic visual “improvements” to the previously minimalist XMB, but it’s not all bad news!
