My actual review of Dragon Age is coming, but it’s been delayed. Mostly, it has been delayed by me wanting to PLAY IT, instead of sitting down and writing a review, which is pleasantly poetic and should tell you something about it right off the bat. But I’m not here to talk about that today.
I’m here to talk about Steve Blum and his many clones.
Perhaps best known for his role as Spike Spiegel in the dub version of anime classic Cowboy Bebop, I am absolutely CONVINCED he is goddamn stalking me in this game. He plays two party members(Gorim, who goes on to become a merchant in Denerim after the dwarf noble origin story, and Oghren, everyone’s favorite dwarven berserker/dirty old man), I’m convinced I’ve heard him voicing random NPCs, and I will eat my damn hat if he isn’t elsewhere in the game.
Admittedly, it’s not QUITE as bad as, say, Quake 4, where he voiced fully half of all the unnamed NPCs without even changing the pitch of his voice, but I am still rather freaked out to hear Spike’s voice coming out of multiple major characters.
