Just a couple things I’m going to throw out there on this…

Mix, get CoD4 on PC. Also, the online community is still going strong, and it’s one of the better multiplayer FPS games out there.

Also, I don’t see how Dragon Age is relying on the sex scenes, I have completely ignored any sort of relationship option in the game because it doesn’t interest me at all, and I can honestly say the game is still fantastic. I also don’t understand how you can put a game down for being linear. Enough JRPGs are fantastic despite the plot linearity. and Mass Effect wasn’t hurt at all for it. You get a more cinematic and focused plot out of it instead of something disjointed and short as in Fallout 3 and Oblivion.

    • Mixmoff says:

I don’t remember us saying the game being linear was an inherently BAD thing. As stated, it’s BioWare and not Bethesda. A solid linear storyline is the style they’ve perfected.

  2. GojiGirlfriend says:

Actually I had friended some new folks and knew they wouldn’t know who the hell ‘Cakefart’ was, but might recognize a name I use online a lot. Also: how did you know it was meeee? Goji doesn’t even have Steam, so I couldn’t have been given away that way.

  3. GojiGirlfriend says:

Oh, and my little brother went to the midnight release of COD:MW2, stayed up all night, beat singleplayer and did some multiplayer, then went to school. Teenage boys are mutants. He’s apparently really enjoying it, though.

  4. Beeman says:

Man! Cod is a PC shooter at heart. The only reason they put so much emphasis on the console version is because there are so many console playin’ tards out there. The console owners far outweigh the PC gamers…that’s why they make them “console shooters”.

I personally don’t really have an opinion on MW2 currently, however…modern warfare isn’t just any shooter. The story is spectacular. But on top of that, the multiplayer is…well, cod4 is one of the best multiplayer games I’ve ever played. It is indeed still popular and, as cruz said, buy it on PC. It’s just better on PC. You get it on PC then you can play with me and cruz sometime :D

As far as getting emotional about games goes…it’s just like crying at a movie or laughing at a movie…only moreso because you’re the one making the events transpire in the game. At the most emotional point in any game, the reason you get emotional about it is because you develop a personal relationship with those characters. Aeris? I loved her, she kept my party alive and shit…then bam she’s gone. The game was never the same again for me. It was horrible! The climax in cod4. Jesus ass I wanted to die D:

Anyways, other than that, good show. But if you’re going to do individual intro music for each segment, then you may as well separate each segment into their own podcasts >__>
Which, I actually wouldn’t mind that since I generally only listen for crit or quit…then kinda blank out for the rest :o

  5. Beeman says:

Bleeeeh, I need to not comment before listening to the entire show >_>

Anyhoo, I have a comment about newguy…or rather, the guy whose…audition thing you aired. I think he was…well, I don’t wanna diss the guy ’cause he seemd pretty coo’. However, it sounded more like he wrote an essay for a class than just having casual chatter about gaming. This podcast is more like…the feel of it is like a couple friends talkin’ about games. That guy’s audition was more of a professional or…trying to be professional about it. Like I said, it sounded to me like he wrote an essay then was reading it in front of you, his classmates XD

I also felt like he was perhaps overperforming a bit…to make himself look good. Like, I don’t know…I used to write things somewhat similar to that back in high school…and when I look back on those writings I think “man what a noob I was”.

    Ahem…just my two cents >.>

  6. Beeman says:

Well, it’s one thing to like what he sent in…but if you’re going to put him on the air based on that alone…I have to question your audition process.

Like I said, you guys generally pull your podcasts out of your asses…and that’s what makes it unique and enjoyable. This guy’s audition sounded highly rehearsed and scripted…a very contrasting feel to Fall-Damage.

But who knows, he could be awesome as fuck on the show. I would just recommend a little more extensive auditioning before letting someone go onto the show >_>

    • Mixmoff says:

Here’s a secret… you never know how someone’s going to do on a podcast until you have them on the f*&%ing podcast.

I’m done justifying the casting process for my show to you. Conversation over.

  7. Aevan says:

Do I need to put the two of you in seperate rooms?

Beeman: Mixmoff has talked to Scares extensively outside of the podcast, so I trust his judgement to the core that this new guy won’t completely fail us. The fun of being able to see what he can do off the cuff is a bonus as well.

Mixmoff: Play through Modern Warfare 2. The last hour of that game is… so.. amazing. I don’t even.

  8. Dr. Scares says:

Had to respond to this. Yeah… it was scripted. Otherwise it would have been me bantering to…. myself?

My schizophrenic outbursts only happen on Thursdays, and sadly I recorded this on a Friday. Bad timing I guess.

    • Aevan says:

Aww, we record on wednesdays… do you think you could reschedule your schizophrenic outbursts for then? Don’t worry, Scares… I am rooting for you and so is Mix, and we’re the only ones that matter anyway. XD Well, he is… since he records the show >_>.
