We interrupt your regularly scheduled podcast to bring you… absolutely nothing! We’re taking a week off because everyone’s had a crazy week and we all needed a breather. We’ll all be back for the live video show next week on Wednesday July 7th.
Fan-made games always have a tricky road. Few have fought the good fight to harder than Phoenix Online Studios and their unofficial continuation of the King’s Quest series.
Dubbed “The Silver Lining” the game successfully negotiated their way out of a cease and desist from Vivendi 5 years ago, only to get smacked with another this February from new license holders Activision.
Now comes word that Activision actually rescinded their Cease and Desist order and has granted Phoenix Online Studios a non-commercial license to release the game for free. Activision, fresh off their Puppy-Killer Tour 2010, has done something kind of nice for gamers!
Something tells me there’s going to be some internal pressure to release this game before the next C&D shows up on their doorsteps!
First discussed on the podcast way back on the aptly chosen Level 5 show, Ni No Kumi looks to enchant players with all the magic of Studio Ghibli. PS3 owners now have reason to be excited as well, as the game is no longer headed solely to the DS. This video announces the PS3 version, and the game is shaping up to be a sight to behold!
With an eye towards skepticism I installed the OnLive application today after receiving my “Founding Members” invite. After an extensively error-filled install process, I booted up OnLive for the first time.
Mixmoff, Dr. Scares, and Mephianse slog through another episode running down the final E3 conversations. We also update on the forum D&D game and then Mixmoff runs off to finish his chinese food.

Found on NeoGAF via our pals at EvilAvatar.com this is a nifty way to stop the timer in the Crackdown 2 demo that launched on XBL yesterday.
1. Start the demo.
2. Choose your agent and his colour up until you press A to “deploy agent”.
3. Disconnect from the internet. I personally pulled out the ethernet cable in the back.
4. Quickly press A after disconnecting from the internet. When trying to join the game is should pop up a menu saying that friends can’t join because you’re online or something.
5. Hit B to cancel.
6. Reconnect to the internet and start up another game.
7. Demo time remaining will be stuck at 30 minutes for as long as you don’t start any races or things like that.
UPDATE: Despite previous reports, Onslaught is only launching on PSN today. XBL users have to wait until “the very near future” according to DICE’s official Battlefield Blog.
In advance of releasing their newest BF:BC2 DLC EA and DICE (AFAIK IIRC) have dropped a new trailer for Onslaught.
The reviews of Trine around here were certainly mixed; it garnered a Fally award from Aevan and a laundry list of complaints from myself. However there was one thing we both agreed on: the game looked amazing.
If this new trailer just released by Atlus is anything to go by (and it usually is) Trine 2 takes it to another level. The visuals in the newest iteration seem to pull us even further down the rabbit hole into the glorious world of 1970′s blacklight posters.
According to our contact at Frozenbyte, Trine 2 is due out Spring of 2011.
