Atlus Releases Gameplay Teaser for Trine 2

Posted by mixmoff On October - 11 - 2010

Our pals over at FrozenByte have been hard at work on the next iteration of Trine if this teaser trailer is anything to go by. And they usually are, which is pretty much the reason we bother watching them and the developers bother releasing them. That’s more or less the whole intent of teaser trailers actually, so I don’t know why I brought it up in the first place.

Anyway Trine 2 is due out sometime next year and is sure to set my console aflame with 3 player online coop.

I call wizard.

Vanquish is slated for an October 19th release date.

You know how usually by this time there’s a spanking hot new episode of Fall Damage ready to be cast upon your glorious earholes?

Well, sad news folks. It seems that the program we use to record crashed mid episode this week, so the resultant audio file is… well… nowhere.

We apologize for the unexpected week off, but we’ll be back next week for the next live show on Wednesday, October 6th at 6:30 CST on our Justin.tv page.

And if you think this sucks and wish to complain, consider poor forum fanatic Slither, who was in the right place at the right time this week to step in as a last minute fill-in for Aevan. His maiden voyage on the Starship Fall Damage shall never be heard.

Shed a single tear, fellow Fallites.

New Episode of King's Quest: The Silver Lining Released

Posted by mixmoff On September - 20 - 2010

The second episode of the freeware fan-made King’s Quest little-series-that-could was released to the interwebs today. Entitled “Two Households”, this episode continues to follow King Graham as he searches to free his children from a magically imposed slumber.

The Silver Lining has been praised widely, but perhaps most impressively it was endorsed by Roberta Williams herself as a true to the series continuation. You can download both the first two episodes for free at the official website.

Shadows of the Damned Announced As Suda51's Next Game

Posted by mixmoff On September - 15 - 2010

The long-rumored “Untitled Horror Game” from Grasshopper Manufacture that has been the brainchild of No More Heroes creator Suda51 and Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami has been named and trailorized at TGS.

Entitled Shadows of the Damned, the game puts players in the walking leather factory that is Garcia Hotspur.

When evil demonic creatures kidnap Garcia’s girlfriend, it’s up to him to travel to the City of the Damned to get her back. Aided by a former demon with the ability to transform into an array of vicious weapons, Garcia will once again take on the mantel of “demon hunter” and rip apart the horrifying forces of the underworld to protect what he loves most.

Also lending his talents to this venture is longtime Silent Hill composer Akira Yamaoka, who was announced to have joined Grasshopper Manufacture several months ago.

Devil May Cry Reboot To Be Handled By Heavenly Sword Developer

Posted by mixmoff On September - 15 - 2010

We didn’t have to wait long for the first megaton reveal of TGS. Capcom announced this morning that a new Devil May Cry is in the works. Apparently it’s a franchise reboot and they’ve tapped Ninja Theory (developers of Heavenly Sword and Enslaved) for the development.

The series has been a sort of limbo since DMC developer Clover Studios broke off from Capcom to form Platinum Games. Capcom has been loathe to trust western developers with major franchises since the sales failure of Grin-developed Bionic Commando and the subsequent tanking of new IP Dark Void.

While I loved Heavenly Sword and think Enslaved looks equally great, neither demonstrates the frantic speed we’ve come to expect from the DMC series. Still, if you were to have asked me yesterday my top studios to take over this series, Ninja Theory would be on the list…. albeit way behind Platinum Games.

It will be interesting to see more of this project, but put me in the “cautiously optimistic” camp.

Valkyria Chronicles 3 To Be Announced At TGS… For PSP

Posted by mixmoff On September - 14 - 2010

Valkyria Chronicles 3 rumors have been bouncing about like mad for the past couple of weeks, and Sega has been reliably hush hush on the matter. Adding fuel to those rumors today the table of contents for the latest issue of Famitsu was leaked, and it lists Valkyria Chronicles 3… for PSP.

But PS3 owners do have at least one positive take-away from this issue of Famitsu. Ico and Shadow of the Colossus appear in the list too, under PS3.
