EA Announces Create, Entire World Yawns

Posted by mixmoff On August - 2 - 2010

Today EA announced a new game coming Fall 2010. As you can see in the trailer above, Create looks to be a playground challenge type game obviously inspired by LittleBigPlanet. Lacking in the trailer above is any cute adorable face of this engine, a la Sackboy and company.

“Create uses families’ imaginations to develop new ways to play together that are both fun and challenging,” said Harvey Elliott, VP and General Manager at EA Bright Light. “We wanted to design a game where the entire family can explore, decorate, and solve challenges where no solution is wrong and the only limit is the imagination.”

For those new to the industry, the keyword here appears to be “family”.

New Gameplay Video for Bionic Commando Rearmed 2

Posted by mixmoff On July - 26 - 2010

In this gameplay video from the floor of Comic-Con, we get to see a few of Rad Spencer’s new moves (including jumping!) If you pay close attention, you’ll hear the pitch for a new contest being held at Capcom-Unity where you can remix a track and have it included in the final game.

The game definitely looks like a step-up visually from the previous version, which was nothing to sneeze at in its own right. Look for Bionic Commando: Rearmed 2 to swing its way onto XBL and PSN early next year.

Kung Fu LIVE Trailer from Comic-Con

For those of you PlayStation Eye owners or future PlayStation Move owners, this trailer gives you a better look at exactly how our own Freemotion technology will work when tracking your entire body without any controllers. As you can see, we always find it’s best to let loose when playing the game, and dressing up in your favorite ‘bad-ass’ outfit is something we definitely recommend. As far as weapons go, the single-player experience is currently controller-free, and players can use their own inanimate objects to take down enemies with much more style!

Ow my everything. The first 15 minutes of playing this game when it’s still fun will be so glorious.

Mass Effect 2: where else will you see aliens singing Gilbert and Sullivan?

T-Minus 5 Days Until Launch

Posted by Pete On January - 21 - 2010

The count down is on.

With the beginning of this new decade in this, the 21st of our modern centuries, on the date of twenty and six with the stars of Orion acting as a sign post… it will begin.

The hype machine is in full gear for the Mass Effect 2 launch and I, humble as I may be, am doing everything in my power to fuel those flames with my unceasing fandom (wah wah). This game, if you somehow dug a hole and managed to fall in it, is the continuation of Commander Shepard and crew’s odyssey through space putting things right that once went wrong, and hoping each time that their next leap…. wait…

Its being touted as the Empire Strikes Back of the Mass Effect saga, and that can only be a good thing.

Unless that elephant alien is Shepard’s father… that would just be weird.

Regardless, enjoy the launch trailer:

StarCraft 2 Gameplay Footage

I am verging on forgiving Blizzard for splitting the game into three seperate parts…but they need more than a 37 second clip to truly win me over. I am trying to comfort myself with the presumption that more time in between games means that they’ll be wonderous and beautiful, and everything a girl could hope for.. I really hope I’m not wrong

I mean, it would be completely irrational for them to have finished all three parts at the same time with minimal effort and they’re just releasing them spaced out like this because they’re a bunch of no good, lazy, bastard, suits who are just in it for the padding of my wallet. Right?

Pixeljunk Shooter's First Level

Posted by mixmoff On December - 11 - 2009

PixelJunk Shooter dropped on the PSN yesterday, and it includes the very nifty option to record video and direct upload to YouTube from within the game. We’ve discussed this feature of the PS3 before, but it’s nice to see games actually using it!
