Scares mentioned it yesterday, but we’ve made a handful of bonus announcements regarding the Level 20 event tomorrow.

Most notably, we will be broadcasting the podcast LIVE as it’s being recorded. If you visit the forums, you will now see a “Stream” tab along the top of the page. Click that and you’ll see a nifty little popup video player. Click it on Saturday, January 23rd at 10:00CST, and you’ll be listening to the newest show, LIVE.

So join us in the Forums chat tomorrow at 10CST for this killer event. If it works, maybe we’ll look at doing this for all shows going forward. If it doesn’t, well at least you’ll have a story!

My power’s been out for about 4 hours now, so we were unable to record the level 20 show tonight. We’ve rescheduled for tomorrow night, meaning the new episode should be up Friday morning.

I’m currently using up what precious little laptop battery power (and cell phone battery power) I have left to notify you. How special do you all feel?

I’m not certain it was sabotage, but who would have the most to gain from a postponement of the show? All signs point to current Listener of the Week Trefoilknot, looking to extend his reign of terror.

So we recorded the Level 16 podcast last night, but I have been out of town today and unable to post it to the site! Look for the new episode tomorrow morning, after I get a chance to edit out all of Cruz’s racial epithets.

It took me officially Way Too Damn Long, but a hole in my budget opened up long enough to let a copy of Borderlands slip through, and I’m really wondering why I didn’t get this sooner.

Right now I’m about 75%-ish through my first playthrough. I’m playing the Soldier class; since he is a planet-hopping mercenary with a hip urban attitude, I have named him Deltron. I’m currently at Level 32 with a Support Gunner class mod, closing in quickly on 33, and for the moment I’m mostly focusing skills on physical endurance, dealing good damage with all weapon types, and getting the most use out of the deployable turret. My only complaint is the lack of any ‘alternate’ character models, since while I do love my Soldier’s skillset, I still feel awkward not playing a girl, and I’ve found I’m pretty terrible with the Siren(stealth is decidedly NOT my forte). Requirements are minimal… you just need to have interesting things to say about video games, and you need access to Skype (which is free.) Additionally you need to be able to set aside up to 2 hours on a Wednesday evening (usually 6:30p to 8:30p CST) to record the show!

We mentioned on the podcast that I would be putting up a list of games that I own that I’ve never touched.  I am not including games that I have played but not finished [yet], or games that I’ve completed.  Because of this, the game list is significantly shorter than to be expected.  This is also only going to span PS1, PS2, Xbox and 360.  My challenge, apparently, is to finish games chosen by you.. the listeners.   I just hope I don’t have a specific time frame that I have to do this in…

Well the Borderlands LAN was some kind of success. It was an absolute blast, although two things happened differently to how we planned them.

1) As I mentione before, it didn’t run the entire time because one guy got sleepy.

2) From what I can see from our progress, at level 30 and playing for something like 15 hours, we are nowhere near close to finished with the game. It is far more huge than I even slightly imagined.

I’ll be talking more about this with Mix at the end of the week, so be sure to check back and listen to the update this weekend!

So you say you love the weekly Fall Damage podcast, but that’s just not enough podcasty goodness for you?

Well we hear your cries of despair and we are taking immediate action! This week we’re starting an occasional secondary podcast to run alongside the main one. Called “Burst Damage” podcasts, they will be significantly shorter than the main show and happen much more sporadically.

But the biggest departure is that Burst Damage podcasts will be done solo. One week you may hear me run down a full review of a game we just couldn’t fit in the main show. The next week maybe you’ll hear Aevan rant about micro-transactions or in-game stores. Think of it as DLC Bonus Content for the Fall Damage experience!

Expect to start seeing these bite-sized solo shows appear from week to week, right here on Fall Damage!
